Not sure on the SCV6 but the SD/TD(guessing the same) V6 there is a pipe on the front drivers 'corner' of the engine. Use an oil transfer pump- 12v clips to go on car battery. I bought this one:

there are cheaper options, but I liked the look of the steel pump casing.

The larger supplied tube is the perfect size to go over the engines extractor tube. You just put one tube over the extractor pipe, the other in the receiving container, clip on the battery leads and turn on. Bobs your uncle.... Without my rookie mistake (there was oil everywhere- over me, the car and carport floor....) I reckon you could do the whole job including filter in 15-20 mins.

Been using the vacuum method for oil changes for the last 4or 5 oil changes, by far the easiest way. I did a test on the last oil change after suctioning out via the top tube, I checked to see how much was left in the sump. Dropped the belly pan and sump plug, barely a dribble.

i prefer the manual vacuum pump, a bit more controllable in my view, but def the way to do an oil change. I use a couple of grommets and rubber bungs to keep the tubes in place.

Thanks...I'll need to check the manual but I think the SC extraction tube is within the filler neck.

Took a trailer load of green waste to the dump. Card - No Cash even in Humpty Doo...

Front pads and rotors. Simple enough but the wear sensor is a bit painful because the plug is up behind the arch liner. Calliper bracket bolts require a ‘lot’ of torque, which is not that easy close to the ground in an awkward position.

Thankfully I’ve always changed mine before the wear indicator “indicates” so I’ve been able to reuse them and not had to find the end of it.

This was the plan (not tripped yet) but the end piece where the brass mounts broke during removal, even with being careful they can be brittle.

Yeah they get to a point that even if your super careful they break. I just cut mine and joined the wires - I've got my head in there every 10,000km for a tyre rotation anyway so I've never had my pads get low enough that they would trigger the wear indicators anyway.
