Passenger door stopped unlocking, the units are not cheap, but once at ten years.. It's cash time.
Lock down here in Newcastle so I'll get the weekend to wash and detail. Fix that y junction to manifold leak and hopefully start changing all the suspension bushes out if I can get my press.
Don’t any of you set your barrier up for removal from the front?
I’ve always done that.
I nearly drove my D1 into a vertical mine shaft years ago, and reviewing what would have been required to get out showed this requirement - only way out would have been to climb through the vehicle, break the tailgate glass and get rescued that way.
So modified all set ups since to enable them to be undone and moved from the cabin. Tools to do so mounted to the barriers themselves.
(Having said that I don’t run a barrier in the D4)
Mine is in for some pre-emptive maintenance. I have done 275000 and want reliability so these things are being done: belts, oil pump, both intake manifolds, oil cooler (leaking), cooling inlet and starter.
As an aircraft engineer I value reliability as I do not wish to be in the back of Woop-Woop and need a very expensive tilt tray.
Hope to get the car back on Monday as it has been a week and a few days so far.
