What happened to your D3/D4 today?

No issues with the transmission or rego but the brake pads were replaced all round and a new sensor fitted to the rear. It was strange driving home without my little orange friend from the last four weeks...

    Now to pay the rego.
Sorry, I’m not getting the reference between some ‘Orange friend’ and a link about tyre troubles…

Wasn't the link about a worn/broken brake pad sensor throwing up an orange triangle? So replacing the sensor fixed the issue...

New SSB SS88Ti cranking battery. Oh I’d forgot to how well a new battery turns over the engine

I fitted mine not long ago.

…same again. Replaced a Bosch SM 60038 with the SSB SS88Ti last week.

Bosch was going OK after 5 yrs, but was struggling after multiple lockdowns and so figured now is a good time to replace.

Also replaced an original 11 year old Varta AGM battery in my wife’s Audi with the SSB SS75Ti. 11 years was a good run and battery was still OK but was down a bit on CCA.

My had an Audi and the battery was in the boot. It was 11 years old too. It’s amazing how much best takes out of them.

What happened to your D3/D4 today?

Liking having the 2x40W solar panels on the roof rack.

Around 60mins of full charging in the morning, and then sits on float for the rest of the day, even when there is cloud cover until the sun goes down.

Was previously hooking up via the rear white plug to a 180W panel on the trailer located 10m away but now don’t have to remember to disconnect before driving off.

The rear brake pad sensor had a broken wire so the orange 'friend' in this post What happened to your D3/D4 today? stayed on for the four weeks until a new sensor was fitted. It was unrelated to the flat tyre - that just added to the 'joy' of the weekend.

Looked at a few on eBay and most are too short or way overpriced for a bit of vinyl.
