    Excellent choice, a better oil in my opinion, they advertise it as a 5w 40 but it's really more of a 15w 30.
    nice viscosity at 40* helps to get it around na cold start, but holds up better at 100* to maintain pressure at operating temp. Still maintains 14cst at 100*

    Im about to get a new gauge to do some testing of different oils and pressures at temperatures, especially now our engines are at 300,00k

    Repco have 6ltr Castrol 5W-30 A5 in stock at six stores within 43Km of me. For a 10ltr bottle the nearest store stock is 21Km away, or a 3-5 day store delivery to my local store. The SCA website shows it as a delivery only option, with a $5 delivery charge, no store stock.

    SC are hopeless. If you see a sale, walk into any store which has them on the shelf then ask for a price match. I did that with auto barn when repco had a sale of the A5(but none in stock). SC had none at the time either. I did agree to buy the entire shelf though What happened to your D3/D4 today?at $38ea.

    Is the HPR5 5-40W it’s replacement?

    It’s an equivalent oil from Penrite that SC recommend meets all requirements for the engine (particularly the Ford rating) but also is what others have been using for a long time with a preference for it as a better oil.

    It does show a-d but I'd be sticking to 5w30.

    What happened to your D3/D4 today? it’s there in front of you. 913 A-D inclusive. I’m not sure what more you want to see? You don’t need to use it, but they claim it meets it.
