It got a ride on a flatbed on Monday :BigCry:. Only got it back Friday from having the inlet manifolds replaced. My wife took it to town and when she stopped it was throwing diesel all over the road. Seems it was a rubber gasket in the return line that got pinched. All home again now and happily sitting in the driveway :thumbsup:
I spent days trying to find a noise in the cabin. It was a repeated but not periodic squeak/tick sound and it was increasingly driving me nuts. I'd been hearing it for weeks but just couldn't locate it while driving. Yesterday when I switched from Carplay to Nav I realised I still had a destination programmed and it was the Nav DVD drive constantly seeking as I drove around. It'd been trying to take me to Bunbury for 4 weeks.[bighmmm]

Well the old girl got a new HPFP (High Pressure Fuel Pump) today. She is the 2.7 Diesel with 230k on the clock and is serving me well.
What started as what felt like a "miss" at some traffic lights when idling, slowly became what I thought was the Torque Converter shuddering on Lock up.
So when she finally threw an Xmas tree up on the dash and went into "I've had enough" mode on the highway (Engine performance, transmission fault, Handbrake fault etc) I decided to take it to the Indy for a look. So the "shuddering on light throttle for a distance of maybe 5 km (on a tranny that has only done 30000km) was actually something HPFP related as the code on the ECM was P2290-00 Injector Control Pressure Too Low.
So as I am going on an extended trip soon "out-back" I decided this was a safe bet.
Lets see how it goes, but I am quietly confident in the diagnosis and the fix.
A huge thank you goes out to the team at British Off Road on the Sunshine Coast for fitting me into a hectic schedule (it seems booked-out well into April) knowing that we have to leave tomorrow on our epic road trip to meet our bookings. Above and Beyond service and professionalism and it didn't go un-noticed!
FWIW - the HPFP replacement includes, naturally, a new genuine injection pump LR017367, a new timing belt kit LR019115 (as the belt has to be cut off because pulling the tensioner bolt will cause damage with the belt still under tension) and a new genuine fuel filter LR009705 (for my model)
