I sprayed contact cleaner in my cruise control buttons as they stopped working last night. I keep a small can in the car and the CC last months in between cleans.

Rebuild the epb after freeing it off , replace the box back on the car route the emergency release cable correctly
Then come to the brakes, I get the relevant picture up on the manual and that’s strange the spreader bar springs are missing and the spring that retains the handbrake cable into the shoe is missing as well …… so now waiting for parts from Landrover Perth ….. great 4 weeks before I go camping for a month

Today we shuffled wheels and adjusted the EPB.
After the 4WD incident I still had 2 good Conti UC6 tyres. On the set of wheels I purchased recently from a member (Thanks!) there were another matched pair of HT pattern tyres. Measured out at the same pressures and under no load there is a ~20mm difference in circumference with the UC6. This works out at about 0.9% (equivalent to ~3mm of tread wear - 6mm total diameter) and means at 100KPH the center diff will be rotating at about one rotation every 10 seconds. Not enough to cause an issue long term. So the UC6 went on the front and the other pair on the rear. It drives straight again.
That'll do until I can save for a decent set of new boots. Interestingly with the spare on the front the car was pulling significantly to the right under heavy acceleration. I'd have expected that if the spare was larger than the remaining tyre, but when I pulled it off and measured it, it was within the error of measurement of the other front (probably +/- 1mm). So I can't explain the pull on torque alone. I suppose it might have something to do with the square wheel that was on the left rear also.
When adjusting the EPB I've never managed to get it into service mode (I know that now). I've just followed the instructions and done the adjustment. This time I managed to use the iiD to get it into service mode properly, then pulled the fuse. Wow what a difference. Usually it's 8 turns out and 8 turns in. I get bugger all wear on the shoes. This time I had to wind them out a lot more than 8 turns to get them to bind. Consequently the brake is significantly quieter than it has been.
Turns out despite protestations otherwise, Mr 8 year old isn't quite strong enough to do up a lug nut to 140NM. Bad day when you don't learn something.
700 kms faultlessly from Brisbane to 1770 via a few detours, with 5 people and a week's luggage not even breaking the window line... This is what this vehicle does so well. Front and rear diffs and transfer box had new oil in them all just before-hand. Hit gravel back roads, didn't notice. Dropped onto the beach at Rainbow, didn't touch tyre pressures, no issues. Came to the weir shown below, pressed a button to raise the vehicle, drove through on rails.
