What happened to your D3/D4 today?

Nice. Mine’s showing signs of failing. I did another car of mine and it was a bit of a pain to do. That said, I did it for a third of the price than quoted, but still.

I had the D2 done by a guy operating on his own for $310 in the middle of 2010. The D3 lining and the three sets of pillars were done by a different mob in Darwin for $660. Excellent job apart from a couple of grubby smudges on the inside of the windscreen.

That’s a great price

Mum got mine done on the D3 in 2020 while I was in Melbourne. It was $800 drive in/out with pillars by a guy in Myaree. Flawless. I asked for a price if I did the remove/re-install (I had my Volvo wagon done for $180 when I did all the labour) and it was about $500. For the extra $300 he did all the work. All that work for less than 1/2 the price of a HPFP? I'd do it again tomorrow.

Replaced the cup holder mechanism in the front LHS (passenger's) vent trim (yes it's an HSE).

Almost all references on the internet were for the holder staying put and not 'ejecting' when pushed. Mine was the opposite - would not stay closed. [bigsad]

However sourced a second hand unit and all fixed now.
