After replacing drivers door actuator the rear left failed.Probably over confident, but bought back into reality,at the first stage.IMGP0287.jpg
Take it easy, use lube/spray wax on gaskets, plastic clips etc.
Could be an 3.0 engine going here
Hard to work out what happened to this one

This is a really good tutorial video popped up on my feed on how the air suspension works (the middle part of the video). Worth a watch when you have a chance. Makes the chore of fault finding so much easier when you know what’s what.

Mounted a waterproof AirTag holder to the D3 today. Removed the speaker from the AirTag before fitting.
The downside with AirTags is if someone did steal the car and happened to have an iPhone then they will actually get an alert that they are being tracked. With luck this prompts them to abandon the car sooner.

Have had tags in the LRs for a while now.
The notification takes a while to come through so you have a chance to find it before they do.
And using geofencing notifications for when it moves is a win.
Hope you didn’t put it shielded by too much metal, makes it very signal restrictive (range very reduced)
We also run them on the MTBs, Van, keys, wallets, dogs, tools etc.

Went to start the Disco yesterday and just got a loud "thump" and the dash lit up like a christmas tree. Quickly figured problem to be the battery. Surprising how quickly they die - was working without problems the previous day.
Put it on the charger to no avail - could get it up to ~ 13 volts but as soon as I tried to crank it over - voltage gauge showed immediate drop to about 7 volts and all I got was another look at those christmas lights (some of which I don't think I've ever seen before).
Battery was a Varta G14 which has been in the car for about 8 years, so I can't complain about the life it has given. Fortunately, the local Autobarn had the same battery in stock, so I borrowed the wife's Camry, picked up the new battery and swapped them out. Started up straight away and hasn't been a problem since.
So today I gave it a bit of a tub - still looks good for 12 years old.

Brian, don't forget to grab a scantool and tell the car you have put a new battery in it...
Life is just a series of obstacles preventing you from taking a nap.
