    And the dog,oh and SWMBO.

Hopefully we have a great time which we will.
Unloaded the D4 today, even got the RTT off by myself, onto a rail set up above the car, which i have recently made.

Had a cracker of a time,SWMBO slept in the RTT,the two of us and the dog slept in the open under the awning

All i am going to hear from the grandson for the next few months will be 'when are we going again'

The highlight was seeing a 2M Eastern Brown slowly make its way through the campsite as if it owned it!

    Bought One

Mmm...wife bullied me into buying a 2014 D4 SC...quite rare I understand. Hopefully it will be a good buy if not I'll blame her☺

Should speed up towing the float compared to the D2 which will now be sold. I'll miss the D2 very much. I've gotten to know it very well...each nut and bolt in fact. The D2 also got me many tools including a hoist..tool cabinet..jacks...parts washer. And so on.

Hopefully all this gear will now not be needed with the D4. I'm also over diesels...hence the V6 SC choice😎

Lovely car to drive and coincidently on test it thrashed a new black rangie off the lights...twice😃. Look out ricer racers there's a new racer delivery van on the block! Only joking.

First thing is to get the ZF auto flushed as a precaution even tho it has not towed. Lots of work already done inc the troublesum jag water pump replaced, new rotors, new tyres, new battery etc. Sad that the owner has lost over 30k in 2.6 years of ownership. .but it had to go he said and there's lots of D4s to choose from out there atm.

More reports to come and I'll be checking out the D4/3 forum now for fantastic helpfull info..just like the D2 forum is😉

Broke a toe on my left foot on Friday and wife decided I had to drive the D3, so I had to learn the feel of the synchros for clutchless changes. Still had to use the clutch to get it rolling in 1st, but kinda got the hang of it now.

Did it a few times in the D1 over the years when the stupid plastic thingo holding the release bearing gave out, but haven't needed to do it much in the last 20 years. Now I think about it, when I did it in the D1 I put it in first and then started the car. Wonder if the D3 will do that?

Hasn't broken down in 5 months now, so I'm starting to look at it with slightly less disgust.

Fitted a one size fits none roof basket and awning to my Disco for $300. Hopefully goes well for the long weekend. Not sure about 3m awning but should be easy enough to resell.

Replaced the alternator. The whine at idle is gone! C1A13-64 error code is still there though. Anyone know how to remove the compressor exhaust?
