Busted a hard plastic hose at 1pm on a Saturday. Luckily I keep about 50m of spare beer line in this house. I've now got a pretty red replacement. The t joint at the intake has left a mess too. Never had a problem before the manifold change out. Seals were perfect. I guess ill just add this task to general servicing

SubscriberAre you talking about the throttle body Y section? If so, the elbow that attaches to the front of that is prone to microscopic cracking where the steel retainer holds it in place and allows flex and leaking. If you have oil leaking from that intake joint, buy a new elbow section as the simplest fix.

Forgot the photo. Yeah Jeff that was weeping a little. Has done since new. But the y joint where it goes into each manifold was leaking at each side. Might have not been in real nice I guess.

SubscriberReplaced mine as a unit, and as suggested by DJ. no issuse since. The vac line underneath the tb and where it enters the vac chamber needs checking too.
I broke that on a Saturday years ago doing belts. Unfortunately everything under there is super sensitive at 10+ years.
I did change the seals and orings aswell. Got heaps here in the parts tub. They came with the manifolds I think but I had ordered them separately aswell

						SupporterHi Folks,
Had a slight rattle and squeak under the bonnet on first start on a couple of cold mornings recently.
Replaced the bearings on the accessory belt idler and tensioner pulleys on my 2013 3.0 Lt D4.
Old bearings had a dry sound when spun but no major play.
Idler was 2 metal halves which enclosed the bearing and rivetted together.
Drilled out rivets, replaced bearing with high speed 6203DDUC3 NSK bearing. Under $10 each.
Replaced rivets with M5 bolts (cut to length) and nuts then centre punched to flare the end.
Did this same replacement on my old D2 some years ago which worked a treat.
The tensioner pulley - not so easy.
Finished up replacing the entire poly pulley and bearing with a Dayco 89018.
This fits a Ford F150 with the 302 V8 from 1989.
Specs are 1mm wider than original poly pulley, otherwise the same.
ID=17mm, OD=90mm, Width=27mm (orig width=26mm).
There are 2 thin metal mounts which need to be changed over to the inside of new pulley bearing.
Now nice and quiet again.
Regards
GIL
New globes tonight, the photos are with the new globe in the drivers side, (which was fine) against the failing passenger side. Got them from stedi. Price and warranty was right. I'm hoping the colour isn't too bright
