MY08 D3 - The Antichrist - "Permagrimace". Turn the key and play the "will it get me home again" lottery.
The old D3 is getting some cosmetic love today and tomorrow. New roof liner and pillars covered.
Next will be to find a decent painter up here to get roof and a couple of other areas sprayed.
Did some dirt road "improvements" yesterday afternoon, firstly trimmed a creeper that was hanging into the road and secondly tied some red and white tiger tape tails to some reflector posts either side of a big dip to remind me and the locals to slow down before it from both directions, years ago someone had screwed plastic dinner plates to the posts as a warning, but the road works dept. must've removed them.

My mechanic fixed a water leak by putting my old water housing back on, as the new one had cracked, which happens from time to time. I'm tempted to get the billet one for $650 vs $150 IIRC.

Replaced the power steering reservoir & fluid. 2 way barb with tube into a container. Tried using some rubber hose with a funnel so I could keep about a litre in but it leaked and made a mess.
Fill the reservoir right up, start and turn steering wheel full lock turn off, but then the reservoir is almost empty, top up and repeat till I have gone full lock both ways and gone though just over 3 liters of new fluid.
Fluid coming out was new so knew I had it flushed. All back together, topped up and test. All good. Cardboard under the D3 overnight for the drips of spilled fluid. Yes I packed the area with loads of rags which caught most of it.
Anyway another job done myself.
Transmission service is next job I will do.
cheers
Peter
