My experience - they can be sourced from TRS in South Aus. for ~$15k. Removal of old engine and refitting of replacement engine ~$6-7k.

    What a fun weekend…..

    Rear upper Arms replaced.
    Fitted braided brake lines.
Replaced Sway Bar bushes and fitted Superpro adjustable links.
    Serviced and adjusted EPB.

Recalibrated SLS whilst I was at it...Back to correct ride height again

Finished wiring my TowPro Elite (again, wasn’t happy with its last set up).

Removed and painted the wiper arms; refitted, look like new.

Removed rear wheel carrier and replaced bearings, painted unit in Raptor before reinstalling.
Modified the wiring to the aux light on the carrier.

Removed Tow hitch and bumper assembly, tidied the tow wiring using an ARK combo - 12 pin flat and built in 50a Anderson plug - on the 12S side.
Cleaned and repainted the steel before refitting everything.

Wired in a couple of extra USB ports in the rear. Never seem to have enough!

Vacuumed the back below the 3rd row seats, removed about 5 years detritus!

Back to work in the morning, will spin the Disco around and when I get home it’s time to start on the front!!!

My workshop foreman is keeping me on point

Tombie, thanks for this thread. It has got me really motivated to do a few, niggly things that need doing on the D3.

Just as a matter of interest, relevant to another forum discussion, is the charging plug in the ARK combo a genuine Anderson?

No, a good replica - I didn’t use it, I fitted my original Anderson in its location

Nice. What was the condition like of the older rear upper arms? Noticeably worn out?

I finally got the D3 back after 17 long weeks with nothing to drive and being 30km from town it made life very difficult.
Transmission was fully reconditioned and so was the valve body including new solenoids. It has a reconditioned TC as well.

I reset adaptions yesterday after picking it up from my nearby indie LR mechanic.

I'm noticing a small amount 'surging' of both engine and driveline in what I think is 4th gear at low rpms, you can feel the vehicle surge slightly and see the RPM fluctuate. It is not the chattering type of fluctuation you get when the TC is playing up.

I'm thinking though that the TC is locking then unlocking. Is this part of the adaption cycling of learning?

    thanks
    cheers
    Peter
