    The crankshafts don't break but oil dilution from DPF regens, failed or otherwise, coupled with long service intervals and fuel economy oils lead to bearing failure.

    ....and therein lies the biggest problem causing all these failures.... ridiculously long service intervals!

    Did some research on the D5s and on the basis of that research there's no way I'm buying one of them.
