Great to hear that you made it ok. Just goes to show, we just never know what is around the corner, or in your case the carpark.
    Hope the recovery goes well.
    Cheers

Noticed a slight squeaky rattle at idle so went to take a listen and when i put my hand on the bonnet it stopped, adjusted the catches less than 1mm and nice and rattle free now.
Took the chance to spray WD40 on both catches while i was there.

I've found that doesn't really last. I've moved to Inox MX4 (stickier than MX3) for that and haven't had to re-apply for 2 years now.

Stickier equals more crap stuck to it though, i could have used PTFE spray instead.

True. I find all WD40 does is wash out the existing lubricant and leave things dry. It turns out to be a good degreaser.

What happened to your D3/D4 today?

WD40 is a dispersant and it’s pretty poor at that!
Lithium grease in the lock mechanism does a far better job.

If you have firearms, that lube is perfect!

What happened to your D3/D4 today?

Service plus new upper arms (rebuilt with Lemforder) and front springs.

Old upper arms weren’t terrible for 308k kms. No leaks or any problems with the original air springs either.

Does feel very nice and planted up front now though.

Squeaky clean oil filter What happened to your D3/D4 today?

Gearbox next before rear suspension although getting those bolts tight enough at the road height setting is an absolute PIA. Access is terrible.

Things didn't go quite to plan.

Surfer resuscitated at Narrabeen - Northern Beaches Advocate

I'm very very lucky, I was in the right place at the right time.
We had just finished a surfing contest in which I had competed.
Walked back up the carpark and said to a mate that I felt "OFF"
He said I'll take you to the hospital, sort of luckily I didn't get that far, blacking out and falling face first onto the bitumen.
My mates sprung into action, one being a former Paramedic starting CPR with blood pouring from my face wounds.
The mate who was going to take me to the hospital rang 000.

Being at the carpark 200m south of the surf club 2 mates ran to get help. As it would be there was a CPR Training day going on! They responded quickly.
Another mate ran south to the Fire Station with the first emergency vehicle turning up a firetruck, then 2 Police cars then 3 Ambulances!
4 x Defib hits were required to get me back.
I got a Green Light Corridor to Northern Beaches Hospital.

Upon arrival where my son and wife were also awaiting there was a team of about 20 people that were attending me, rushed to the theatre were a stent was inserted in my Left Main descending Aorta ( also know as the widowmaker) it was 100% blocked.

So back home now, can't do much slowly building up over 4 weeks.
    I'm 64 / 80kg 183cm and fit, I surf most weeks 4 times.
Cholesterol is 2.8 all other blood numbers are below the recommended thresholds.
Why this happened to me with absolutely no real warning signs who knows.

It could of been so much worse, out in the surf, away in the Vic HC and my part time job is driving a public bus!

Yes I have bought a Lottery Ticket for OZ Lotto tomorrow night,

    Cheers Rich.

BTW no driving for 6mths because it was a Cardiac Arrest. But the Cardiologist says I can surf in 4 weeks!

    Hi Rich,

sounds like you had one of those rare Kerry Packer lucky moments, surrounded by people who knew exactly what to do with the right equipment at hand thankfully. When Packer had his heart attack the only Ambulance in the whole of NSW that had a defibrillator on board just happened by chance to be driving past the Polo club out in the middle of no where that he was playing at, given that saved his life he then purchased and gave to the Ambulance service defibrillators so every ambulance in NSW had one.

I'm glad to hear you have come through this well and it sounds like you may have some questions as to how this happened given your high level of fitness and good health etc, if you feel so inclined about finding out a non mainstream medical view about the correlation between cholesterol and heart attacks/disease, metabolic heath etc then a very interesting doctor that is based in Sydney and whom is considered in the top half dozen or so on the globe in this direction of treatment is Paul Mason, he has done some very interesting interviews that are on Youtube, only pain of it is he usually has a six month waiting list for appointments, but I believe he often does some how manage to fit people in who have had serious scares. Anyway might be worth a look.

Hope to catch up soon for a chat, its been quite a few years since we last caught up and I have some how managed to misplace your number, so I'll pm you.
    Cheers,
    Terry
