Followed the ZF procedure - warm up to 30 deg, add oil until you get a constant overflow stream, allow temp to rise to 40 deg at which point it was just dripping and then refitted the plug.

Out of interest for those without a diagnostic tool - from a cold start and warming up by idling and occasional revving only - just as the auto hit 30 deg the engine temp gauge just started moving to the 1/4 position. By 40 deg the engine was at 62 deg but still reading a quarter. I also measured the oil pan surface temp at 32 deg when the oil was at 40 deg. If the engine temp has already hit normal temp, the auto is probably too warm to check the level.
From what ambient air temp as most of the year it can be already 30+ sitting in the garage!

Was 15 deg when I started. Would have to wait too long for the next 30 deg day.

    Supercheap deals

I just purchased some DBA 4x4 slotted, coated front rotors and Bremtec Euro pads. The rotors are currently on sale at Supercheap, $166 each which seems like a good deal, for anyone looking. I like that these rotors have the black coating on the hub so should last well.

Just don't have the drivers side facing into the wind when you undo the filler plug as the gearbox could pressurise and blow everything out the breather

I got the same from SCA when they had their 30% off Bathurst sale, but used the DBA SP pads. I’m going to order the rear DBA T2 rotors with the Current SCA 25% discount as well, but with the DBA SP pads via eBay.

I gave up on those Bremtec Euro pads and replaced with the Pedders ceramic. Properly bedded in, etc, etc, just couldn’t get them to stop squeaking at low speed. The Pedders ones come from the same factory as the highly regarded Akebono ones. Recently installed their rotors and pads to the front too.
