Has anyone replaced those tie bars and is it just a matter of replacing bushes or whole bar complete? I have a new front bush to replace on the upper arm but thinking will do those bars at same time. **Just checked and they look inexpensive.
After a 2000 km Carnarvon return I’m now thinking the occasional clunk is from a front CV. I did a sand track and it was more evident under load. Before leaving I checked all suspension items and everything including torsion bars was tight and perfect.

I guess a front CV makes sense at 330 km. My car is same age and km as Vera’s car on LR Time and I remember they recently did front CVs.

I changed my two front drive shafts. Still clunks.

Took it to work today and have driven it a few times into town too. Noticeably more road noise than the D697s but certainly not loud as far as I'm concerned (says he with tinnitus ).

Maybe I’ve joined the clunk club. I think the fact it arced up under a bit of pressure was a clue definitely a rotational thing. On the road it’s a random single noise associated with cornering at low speed but if I do a full lock test the cvs don’t make a noise.

Centre bearing still intact and rear driveshaft not sloppy but I didn’t consider front prop shaft might investigate that more.

I’ll try not to think it’s the TC to gearbox spline.

A warning light did come on on the way back. Check brake pads warning 160 thousand km after fitting the Akebono pads and the discs still look perfect no dishing.

Run slightly more pressure 2-4psi and it’ll improve.

This old thread matches my symptoms and worth a try. Driving on the sand induced some snappy body roll come to think of it. My sway bar bushes are not original but changed a long time ago. Any play allows the location ring on the sway bar to knock against the chassis.

I recently pumped mine up to 40psi and that really helps to hear the cane toads pop, even on dirt roads!

Drove home from Denmark the long way due to half the South of WA being on fire. Popped the fuse on the caravan fridge socket 3 times. I have 3 things on that pin. The 3 way fridge, the Engel and the van camera. Thinking it might be an overload I tried without the 3 way fridge. It went again. Tried without the Engel and it went again. Tried with neither and it went a 3rd time. Gave up and drove the rest of the way without the Van camera, aware that the beer was slowly warming up.

I have an intermittent short in the van somewhere.

The front end whine is not fun. Have to get it up on stands and drop the diff oil this weekend.

Other than the whine and the short in the van (which to be honest isn't the cars fault) another successful holiday.

I would check the wires at the van's plug first.
