Brought it home after a service, transmission service and replacement of the rear air conditioner. Oh and new wiper blades too which will be helpful as we approach a new record West Season.

Why did the rear aircon unit need replacing?

Sorry I typed that in haste - the rear air con evaporator. It had developed a leak and the system was slowly losing gas.

After a call to the builder, a rather embarrassed brickie turned up this afternoon and spent a couple of hours carefully removing the mortar. Apparently not his first rodeo. Reckons his boys owe him a slab next week.
Is mortar actually removable after it's set? A couple of years ago some idiot contractors went down our street very early in the morning spraying concrete footpaths and didn't bother covering any of the cars - NB, there's no nature strip so at least 10 cars got splattered when they applied it and when they pointed their hose across the cars. I got it off my D4 before it was too hard but one of my neighbour's cars was written off.

There is a couple of ways to remove it. The best is probably a weak acid and the way this guy used was very slow mechanical removal.
