    TDV6 Oil Filter - Purchase

    Hi All,
I've decided on impulse to replace the engine oil in my D3 TDV6 before our Christmas trip - so I will need a filter and sump plug.

I assume, that they are the same filters as fitted to the Territories and therefore I have a chance of purchasing one at a local Ford dealer or even Repco etc?
It's not so much the cost as convenience to acquire as I'm in the Eastern burbs of Sydney and getting anywhere is a PITA.

I was looking this product: Ryco Oil Filter Cartridge - R2662P - Ryco | Repco Australia

Surely in 2019, I don't have to go genuine?

    Cheers
    Ralph

Ralph... another alternative is to have the parts delivered to your door from one of the Aussie vendors on this site. My local indie (BRitish OffRoad) does overnight deliveries. Just another option if the warden doesn't give you an early mark.

    With sump plug washer.

They do sell the sump plug but I don’t see the point in replacing a steel sump plug screwing into a steel thread.

My car is 12 years old and covered 180,000km and still has the same sump plug the engine was made with - just dont over tighten and wreck the o ring.

That looks like a very nice product. Especially to stop the initial gush of oil going everywhere.

I used that product for the last two years of my D3 ownership. Bought from the Repco shop around the corner. No apparent problems.
