Head Unit – initially I was going with an Alpine wireless unit but the interesting thing was that with this particular unit, only 2 buttons would work on the steering controls. Sam did some calls and research and a Pioneer DMH-Z5350BT would do the job. There are different resistance measures associated with the Pioneer unit that allowed full steering wheel controls, the Alpine couldn’t do this (I swear Anatomy and Physiology is easier than this!!).
I do have the wireless version of this unit on backorder (none in the country until June).
hey rambada, could you confirm if you used the UK adaptor kit for the final fit? Do you know if it was "just" a case of finding the correct wires for the respective function and connecting them or was it something more complex?

I'm looking at similar for my MidLine and there's a couple people on here who have managed it and others who haven't so I'm trying to figure out what the difference is.

Rye from Driven Sound Vision Technology just advised me of the process for the Connects2 adapter interface units. Check out page 3 of the Connects2 CTULR05
INFODAPTER INTERFACE FOR LAND ROVER VEHICLES http://www.connects2downloads.co.uk/...LR05_IG_v1.pdf - basically, to access the settings menu, push and hold the 'mode' button on the steering wheel for two seconds. A Connects2 settings menu now displays on the new aftermarket headunit. One of the options to set in there is the date and time which corrects the instrument cluster date and time.

Doesn’t work on 2010-2011 models with small screen.

I dont know the adaptor kit model or type - I'd been looking into this for years and the instal/correct parts were way above my pay grade. I just closed my eyes and paid for it to be done.

The only info on the invoice is 'FP8409K Facia Kit and interface to suit 2010 Discovery 4'. The kit was an Aeropro. There was restrictions on what brand of head unit I could buy (I went with Pioneer). I also recall that there was some juggling with a specific connection and that there were 3 types available in the LR models, which you don't know until the unit is physically removed.

Appalling lack of detail but as you have probably worked out, I am no tech head.

I have only just found this thread so am fascinated.

I have a 2010 D4 SE with the usual daft little screen and I yearn for Android Auto.

Interesting that a change to the head unit can be done. Did the 'plug and play' kit ever come out?

If so does anyone know the part/kit number.

Otherwise what is the optimum set up now? head unit fitting kit etc

It’s coming, I’m still speaking with the manufacturer.

    It’s very close.

Connects2 shows two different kits now. CTKLR10 and the CTKLR9 which refers to L319?? Still talks about clock reinstall though?

Im a little excited now, I had come to terms with it not being possible.

    Any updates, Tombie?
