Ok so I got to work on reg the disco one of the previous owners kids called it reg and it's stuck soon as I got it home I dumped the coolant to prevent further damage to the hoses and was pleasantly surprised to find it was 99% coolant and looked a lot worse than it was

Getting the cooler out is a fair old challenge to the patience couple of things who ever thought split tube over the wireing and who came up with the oil seperator needs a serious flogging.
trying to keep the brittle tubing out of the filter housing was a serious task I ended up using a vacuum cleaner to suck it all out .
A couple of low pressure quick release fittings broke too but a trip to the wreckers sorted those and the elbow on the hose that attaches with the wire clip snapped as soon as I touched it so now need a complete hose to replace it. I actually bodged it up well enough to hold water to flush the system.

Also a good rubber glove peeled over the top of the filter housing when I vacced I went round all the crumbly split tube and and crushed it in my fingers next to the nozzle I need to get back in and tape up the loom or re split tube it I think with the engine cover left off it won't be a problem again as the heat won't be trapped
