    D3 vs D4

I have never owned a discovery bit always liked them. Is there any reason to buy pa D3 over a D4 2.7 lt. except price ? Would be used for touring not SERIOUS 4x4.
    cheers

NO. The 2009 D3 is pretty close to a D4 but the interior isn't as nice IMHO.

Only the dash is different, everything else back is exactly the same - I prefer the D3 dash.

Seats are different - some prefer the bolstering on one or the other.

I think the D3 dash is more practical / versatile and like the external D4 upgrades better.

The D4 is an upgraded D3.
Many issues were sorted for the D4,although for some reason i have always liked the look of the D3 over the D4.

There's not many low-ks D3s left, compared to even three years ago when I was looking.

Edit: and be wary of the kms claimed - there's one on Carsales at the moment that's listed as 60,000 kms, but that's on the second motor ...

It does seem what is on the market all look to be high km cars today. Just goes to show how much preference the D3 and D4 gets for being used as the daily drive.

But D4 are getting on a bit, many are 10 yrs old, D3 up to 15.

Even at say a low 15K a year that’s still a lot of K’s although many would do a few more k,s a year than that.

Mine which is in the markets is one of the very few with lowish K on it around.

Which is probably the biggest difference right now, the average D4 has done 160K, whilst the average D3 is over 220K.

What others have said is all valid but the one thing I will add is that very few D3's were optioned with Bluetooth connectivity. All base model D4's came with it as standard. It may not be an issue for you but at least you are aware of it.
