Funny how you don't notice things till you have one, but All 4 Adventure's Jason has one on his 1000 NM Toyo Land Cruiser.

Definitely, although it feels like my 16.5 TDV6 has a much reduced lag than the 2.7, to the extent that the i-Drive might not be warranted, or the car has been tickled - no evidence otherwise in the history though?

    Time for another drive methinks.

Mine arrived Tuesday, fitted it straight away, took longer to decide where to route the cable and stick the controller. Went for a drive and whoa how cool is this gadget, no lag, instant response.

Tried all settings, E9 too soft except may be on real loose gravel, U9 is cool but youve got to be ready.

Settled on U3, i wish there was U2.5. Drove into town today saw 7.1l/100km on the auto trip meter (im a 40min hwy drive south of town) and cruise control is much smoother.

Then for fun i tried U5, in manual mode, still amazes me how much torque these engines give and how quick a 3t 4wd can shift.

Still want to try sand mode, in manual, U5.....

Just in case, does anyone have spare diffs and transfer case?(just kidding)

    Love the EVC idrive!

Eric just FYI. It has no impact on cruise directly.
Only your driving style modified shift behaviour in the transmission.

i too have recently bought one and it took a long time to fit the plug, pushed pretty hard and it still wouldn’t connect. Eventually discovered the pins on the iDrive plug plug didn’t quite line up so gave them a gentle lever away from the casing with a wide blade and presto, fitted like a dream.

I would warn against pushing too hard until after you check the pin alignment. I was on the point of contacting them to discuss the problem in case there was some instruction/technique I had missed.

I’ve also noticed a significant increase in fuel consumption, (to 15.6L/100km from mid 13’s, either towing my 2500kg camper or not. I will keep a close eye on this and do some more experimenting.

    cheers

Thanks Tombie, I've always noticed mine seems to "hunt" between speeds when cruise is on, I put it down to the 2kmh increments. That "hunting" seems a lot less now with the EVC connected, but yes, the adaptations in the trans ecu sure learn fast.

Should not be that hard to push in, and definitely not needing pins to be realigned! On mine I noticed that the EVC connector housing almost fits both ways over the pedal connector, but once correctly aligned is just a smooth push in and snicks into place, no overly hard push required.

Yes, I had it around the right way.
The pins in the iDrive were sitting within 1mm of the side of the housing (out of the box) and a gentle nudge got them far enough away for them to line up with the loom end of the original cabling. I had no trouble getting it in to the top of the accelerator housing. It just took me a while, and many careful attempts, to realise what the issue was.
