At least Hawker is a nice town, and the Teagues will look after you as much as they can - good country hospitality.
As others have suggested, Triumph Rover Spares in Lonsdale would be the first port of call. Failing them, Sovereign Motors in Kent Town.
There is also PCB Land Rovers but he is so booked up, its very unlikely he could help.
If you go with TRS, there is a caravan park at Brighton, about 10km away, or a big park at Marion maybe 12km away.
We live 10km from TRS, so I do know the geography.
If you want any more help, give me a call - Alan 0407135110
Sorry I just reread your post, are you saying TRS will install as well?

My BIL has a D4 and TRS will no longer service it as they have closed their workshop. I do not know if they replace engines but I doubt it. They will refer you (like they did to my BIL) to another indie a little closer to the city (can't remember where but might be Seacombe Heights).

TRS do most things. Biggest advantage is they know the cars backwards, which IMO is huge. Their engine will have a warranty, and so will their work.

The other issue is of course the time of year.. Can they fit you in?

*** I see from their website that their service department is "permanently closed"***

Doesn't hurt to call them, they would probably recommend a shop to do the fitment.

TRS are here in Sth Aus so single freight of 370ks. Aztec engine is exchange so two lots of 2500ks freight. Both options would entail getting the local mechanic to install, probably after xmas.

So is it worth the extra roughly $2500 for a new engine?

I don't see the value in a new motor when you can get a territory motor from $2500 and up, save yourself a fortune for when the trans needs doing which will come soon enough.

How easy is it to fit the terry motor compared to the original?

Fitting you in will be their only issue! Time of year, and all that.
    Good luck.

Strip both motors and fit most of the disco parts to the Terri motor, there are a few write ups here about what's involved.

As far as I know TRS no longer have a workshop, they are parts only.

If as mentioned above you can find a territory motor for $2500, that would be the obvious choice...I didn't you will though, they'd have to be worth similar to the LR one in price.

    Cheers

Unfortunately I am in a little town in a caravan park, I won't be doing anything with the motor. Asking the local mechanic to play mix and match with motors is going to be an expensive exercise I think.

Being a Grey Nomad certainly has its disadvantages.
