    Engine and gearbox removal

So the mechanic is saying he can pull the engine and gearbox together body on quicker than doing a body off.

Is he brilliant or is this not going to be as easy as he thinks?

ahhh Loanrangie.....better get your SA tourist guide out.....

Hawker is no ghost town , in fact it's a great place to perch and have a look at the surrounding towns around the foothills of the Fantastic Flinders Ranges

Loanrangie said ....otherwise it will be another 6 weeks in a ghost town.

The engine can be changed with body on but is a labourious process - with the correct high lift it will probably be quicker and easier to lift the body and gain easy access - it is designed for that.

If I had a vehicle to see the surrounds it would be alright, don't fancy walking though

The labourious part body on mainly is separating the engine from the gearbox. If you don't have to take off the crossover pipe or worry about the transmission loom by doing them together then maybe it wouldn't be too bad?

I know been there numerous times, a little tongue in cheek but still 6 weeks is a long time especially when the heat kicks in.

TRS are here in Sth Aus so single freight of 370ks. Aztec engine is exchange so two lots of 2500ks freight. Both options would entail getting the local mechanic to install, probably after xmas.

So is it worth the extra roughly $2500 for a new engine?
