Thread: Average Service Cost

Can't talk with authority on the petrol D3, but I'm shocked at the
price of servicing the TDV6. Just had the 48,000 K service which cost $1500,
but it included replacing the rear disk rotors. I never spent anything like
that on my petrol Nissan Patrol which still had the original rotors when I
traded it at 183,000km.

After 18 months of ownership and 52000km servicing is almost double
what the leasing company estimated, a first for me and I've been leasing
cars since 1991.

And what about tyre life.....doesnt seem real good either.

all these things add up to me staying away from the d3 for a fair while yet

but i suppose if you want the best,it comes at a price

I can't quote any figures as my servicing was included in the price of the car while under warranty. However, there's nothing special about the Ford 4.0 V6; there's a million of them around in various brands, so I can't see why it'd be an expensive engine to service.

This is one reason I can't afford a new car.

Iv'e just had the 24,000 service done on my TDV6 and that has come in at $437.00 . Things like a Pollen filter for the a/c at $72.95 seem a bit steep .

Sure is when you get get em for $20 odd from the UK

just spent a little over $500 for a 12000km service all they did was change oil and oil filter. Having always done my own services, this was a bit of a shock.
