She said a couple of enquiries have come through and you were a tough crowd to please.

I told her the previously best price from SC so she knew what she'd need to do, and I guess she's done it! Three cheers for market competition.

I think the reason her price was a bit different at first was I asked SC about the warranty for the D4 and they said they could match the price for the D3 Used Warranty. Since Platinum then matched the price they were trying to apply the same percentage commission to another product and came up higher than SC.

Anyway, glad my e-mail to her worked, and we can all benefit.

PS. I have no shares, or afliliation with Platinum apart from being a customer.

Hah hah - if only that were the case (no pun intended). It'd still be the best deal you can find for any wood ducks. :P

So, is anyone actually taking up the offer?

    Stage 2

Now for a Group Buy discount LOL ........ how much blood can you
wring out of a stone ?
I don't think many Policy Resellers operate at much less than this
level of commission , unless through some Work-Group/Factory/Union.
As MR said , it's cheaper if financing , but there's profit pickup there .....

    Unhappy Any updates???

I am in the process of picking up an '05 TDV6 with 98k on the clock.

I was quoted the $3590 price from the LR dealer here in Perth and my howls of laughter were only met with a blank stare.

I am trying to get the service history of the car to see if anything serious has happened to it, warranty wise. All of these stories are now making me think a fair bit harder about the whole deal...?

Allianz just coughed up to fix three minor things. A total bill to them of $980.

Think I did the right thing!

    Cheers, Steve

Just a plug for the Allianz warranty. The D3 went in for its 96k service yesterday and they found a small (ie there's no oil on my garage floor) oil leak between the gearbox and engine.

$30 part but a 2 day job to get it done. ~$2000 repair. Allianz don't warrant oil leaks due to wear but have agreed to cover this as it shouldn't leak.

So, $2400 on the policy well spent I think.
