Did you speak to ARB in Canberra or ARB head office as ARB Head Office have always indicated there was not the demand, particularly now as the L320 is no longer made, and they would not be getting their D3/D4 bar certified for the L320.

Yes that is Zilche's RRS - there are some threads on it. Done by some OL dealers without the approval of Head Office.

i would just say there seems a large difference in opinion between the dealerships and the OL mothership.. OL dealerships in both Sydney and Qld
state it is ADR and SRS compliant for the chassis it is fitted to.. they also state it would be an offence and they would be open to prosecution if they carried out an illegal modification to my (anyones) vehicle, hence their level of surety

That said i think GGHaggis has a better approach in terms of A bar and winch which retains the Sports classic line.. so maybe i might change the appearance again .. when i get my next bonus / tax cheque of course

Sorry guys still getting use to the site
Didn't go to the second page until now
Yes I spoke to Sydney and was told that unless their bars were ADR approved they would not sell any bars
Without numbers they would not be interested in building bars
I would have though D4 and RRS would collectively be enough interest and assuming the safety devices and chassis are the same on both that one bar perhaps with slight side aesthetic changes would prompt ARB into action for both types
The older models become the more likely they will be tempted off-road means the L 320 should be on their radar more now than before

As I have said before - it doesn't matter what dealers, franchises or state managers say - it was it was the maker and importer says and that is Opposite Lock Australia - not one of there subordinate organisations.

Here is the link to Opposite Lock Australia Contact page Contact us

Send them a query as I did and see what they have to say.

I hope their responses to me, as I have previously published, are wrong as I would love to get one of their bars fitted but unless the manufacturer and importer can provide the relevant compliance information then I am not prepared to have them fitted.

The implication from your email is that i have a possible route to ask OL to a). remove all mods, b). reinstall all original parts, c). refund all OL charges (Bar/Winch/Lights) if my vehicle is now deemed illegal and their dealerships knowingly supplied and made modifications to that vehicle. that may be quite an interesting exercise.. i will see what they say.. and let you know

Why take that course ? You have what you want. As we have seen with a lot of similar issues on vehicles other than LR. If you push hard enough, you will get what you want, and no one else will be able to fit the product to their vehicle. Sometimes it is better to have shades of grey rather than black & white.

Agree, good lord how many of us made bullbars for our original 2.4 Hilux and thrashed them all those years ago.

Too many people worry about the nanny state. I would just enjoy it looks great and is functional.

    Cheers

    Zilch,
I agree with Admiral and Piddler.
Someone has to pioneer these things or they don't happen.
Over regulation is breeding mice where once there were men.
Besides it wasn't made in your shed; you paid professionals with that specific expertise who make and sell the things, made every effort to do it right and it looks the goods too!
Can't see you the customer carrying the can even if something does go wrong.
But really though, its not like its a new engineering design.. how much difference is there between a D4 and a RRS?- same chassis, safety systems, wheelbase, track ... its just cosmetic.
    Rob.
