Generally I agree. But it is so nice to see a Range Rover looking a bit bad. The Classic Rangies managed to look aggressive stock, but somehow the later ones dont.

Please note that this GM bulletin is dated November 2007 and may well be superceded.
It took me hours of research to find this hidden amongst GM service info bulletins.

Hi Daniel Sorry to rehash this but I would like to double check autotrams fluid for GM box in TD6. As per your attachment is any oil listed with the appropiate licence suitable for the TD6 auto. I an aware that there may be more oils add but not on your list but it is somewhere to start. Thanks

Also can an oil be on the list BUT not have the licence & therefore NOT be suitable

Can get 20 lt's of Castrol Dexron VI (which is on the list) for about $290 from my local dealer. But tech dept could n NOT tell if it had the right GM license No. "nothing to do with them, thats a GM problem"

Other option was to provide a sample of oil from trans and for $45 they would lab test it to find out what exactly it is. (possible best option)

So now what. Test or take a chance or look elsewhere

I had mine done the other day.. used the valvoline maxlife. Auto place swore it is compatible and would be the best for the job. Put a new filter in and 6 litres of oil.. Filter part no. FK-1153 which was 60 bucks and 60 bucks for the oil. Total for the service was $220. Glad I had it done as the gear changes are super smooth now. Didn't realise it would make that much difference.

Not so sure about that one Camo as its not a Dexron VI oil (GM recomended oil for late model Trans ) Not on the list provided by Daniel all tho his list is a little old. But then I could be totally wrong too

Valvoline.com > FAQs > System Fluids > Automatic Transmission Fluid

    Question 10 and 11

Say it should be fine. MR auto in Redcliffe (landrover specialists) use the Max Life in the L322 Diesel.

Busman (Dave) recommended Russells AT Specialists in Oxenford (07)55617061 for any work as they rebuilt the auto in his D3. Must say, they were very professional.

As a long term MR customer, I asked them about the GM box last year and was informed that they had never done one - I would be the first - no thanks.
