Hi Andrew. Where are those extra batteries located? I have just bought a L322 TD6 and I cannot find a place for my second battery. Jim

They are in the rear drivers 1/4 below the floor. Origionally there is a plastic tub there, but this has been removed/cut. The cables run upwards to the 12v supply above. once the top carpet cover is back on, you cannot even tell its there. It has a redarc controller. There are 2 sealed gell batteries under there with the power running constantly to the 12v outlet in the rear loadspace.

I will post up pics soon.

I would try and run a high dosage of injector cleaner through your system, BEFORE you pull other things apart. I have found that quality and blend of diesel varies considerably even here in Canberra. I always run my Td5 with additive after falling foul with fuel filter problems in my Tdi. The safest spots for diesel are the truck pumps with their high usage rates; algae etc is less likely to be a problem. The screen / mesh filter around the tank fuel pump is very fine. dirty fuel can block this and cause poor performance. In the Td5 overheating that has caused some engines to stop working all-together, sometimes hitting the tank frees the pump, BUT not always.
The Toyota injector cleaner is very good !!!
At present I use the PM Lubricants additive unless I fillup with Caltex Vortex Diesel which is very good!! and usally only 2c a litre dearer, cheaper than additive.

    Hi Andrew.

Is the Redarc actually drawing power from the rear fuse box? I was told that there's not enough voltage there to do that, which personally didn't make sense to me given the feed size.
Would be interested in your opinion of how the installation is going, in terms of charging ability – sure makes it easy if it can be powered from the rear...

    hard range 322....

I have found the spot in the rear of my 322 and it is large enough to fit my deep cycle battery. My local auto electrician says that under no circumstances should the power feed to the rear be used to charge battery even though it is fused at 50 amps because this will upset computer. Has anyone run a dedicated charge cable to rear of these vehicles and if so how did you run the cable? Jim

    Hi Jx2mad,
I have a 6mm cable that comes from just under the 50amp fuses which is located with the 8mm (+)cable on the screw which travels to my anderson plug. I have had no trouble with this when it is charging my battery and running the fridge inside my van. Currently I will be installing another wire from this area to goe to a voltage relay and then to another battery in the back of my wagon to run my fridge/freezer.

Long overdue update, now that i have sold my p38.

I removed the covers on the fueltank and cleaned it out (highly reccomended job to everyone with a l322, as it isnt hard). There was alot of sludge and water in there. I then flushed through fresh fuel and new filters again.... still not 100%.

I then removed the injectors to get tested at my local bosch agent ($75 each) but luckily they pulled one apart first....... and found it full of mud.

So..... i was up for 6 new or reco injectors. LR want 1200 each, and the cheapest i could find in uk was 1800 pounds for 6.

I was in no hurry,so i sent them to the uk to get reconditioned (510 pounds), as the only thing they dont replace when reconditioning is the outer case.

When they returned i threw them back in........ and it wouldnt start. It turned out to be #4 injector jammed open . I sent an email to the uk injector bloke, and he said he is sending me another asap.....which has since been lost in the post. Sent another email, and ANOTHER has been shipped....... i hope.

    The MID pixel display.
I had an landrover electronics expert replace the ribbon with a new bmw one, but it didnt help. So i sent it to the uk aswell to a place called bmw pixel fix, and for just over $200, it works perfectly now with warranty.

I removed the ugly bullbar, and got another bumper bar with no holes for free (the right colour too). I replaced the standard headlights with vouge xenons, only because i had them there.

Now that i am filling up with p38 coin, here is my shopping list.

200 Landcruiser BFG Km2 Muddies X 5 on Black Rims (eBay item 180690516317 end time 13-Jul-11 13:58:54 AEST) : Cars, Bikes, Boats

LANDROVER DISCOVERY SERIES 3 BULLBAR (SECONDS) | eBay

(if anyone else bids me up on these things i'll charge you double on your next HRA purchace ).
