    L322 trailer wiring loom/socket

My 2007 tdv8 came with a towing bar hitch ready for the tongue to be fitted (original owner said that all of that model came fitted with the hitch) but no wiring loom/socket.

Has anyone got any advice on where to source a wiring loom?

Also does the L322 come with any factory provision/wiring from cabin to rear for electric trailer brakes? - or do I need to run that wiring myself.

Not 100% sure on the 07, but I would imagine it will need the trailer module fitted as part of the wiring loom. Not sure if they are available aftermarket - I would think you would need to go to the Stealers...
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

Daniel the plug should be up in the bumper on the left side as you look at the towbar socket.

Yes thanks Laurie - I have the factory wiring loom on my '05 td6 HSE but the '07 tdv8 Vogue only came with the hitch. Original owner said that all '07 RR came with towbar hitch but no towbar tongue or wiring unless paid for as extra. The truck has only been used in city for commuting - 60k km in 5 years. Never been on unsealed road - not until I got my hands on it that is. Low range, 4 wheel driving and everything now. Poor thing doesn't know what hit it. Even the VentureCam has now had a work out!

You will need to purchase the kit from the stealers. I had to purchase one for my '07 SC and it was about $400.00 IIRC. It includes the wiring harness, two trailer sockets, both round 7 pin but one that is very uncommon in Australia and the associated module/computer.

    Cheers

Found my receipt. $423.10 from ULR in Melbourne in March of this year.

Unfortunately, you cannot just link off the rear vehicle lights as you would in just about any other car as this will cause fault messages to be displayed.

Thanks Pat - so you sold your old td6 truck?
I still have mine and now using it for work duties - 185k on the clock and still going strong!
Decided to get the tdv8 for shopping trolley duties.

I would never just hook up a trailer loom direct "to rear lights" in any car let alone a RR.

I can get the whole kit from UK inc delivery for about $300-350. It includes the special sockets for charging trailer mounted batteries - a little cheaper for just the normal trailer loom and ECU.

If others want to join in them I can ask for special deal for multiple purchases and save on delivery charges as well. Let me know - PM or something.

    Hi Daniel,
You must have me confused with someone else. Never had a TD6. Only ever had (and still have) 1995 4.0SE P38A and the 2007 SC Vogue.
