    Fitting wheels

Now it may be that I am old, a wimp or just a plain softie but I have always found it most awkward to fit the wheels on my TD6. Lining up the centre spigot and studs at the same time and then holding everything dead square and central while I get a nut started seems to be more difficult than it should be.
Today I had a friend machine me two extension pieces (aluminium) with a taper on the ends. Screw the longer one onto a stud and then spear it through any stud hole and you are halfway there.
I then pushed the wheel home easily and screwed the shorter one which also has a small taper on the inner end onto a stud. To do that I did not have to have everything dead square to start a nut onto the thread.
Fit 3 of the wheel nuts, remove the two threaded extensions and finish the job.
This was much easier on my old back!
Thought that someone might be interested.

I have a couple of photos but have no idea how to get them attached to this note. If I work it out I will revise the posting.
