Did you take the roof panel out? If so, how hard was it? I need to do it to mine.
Gentleman,
I have just made the switch from a 2001 P38 (and 2002 BMW 325Ci) to a L322 HSE. Could not be happier with the switch, however there are some matters that need attending to. Mainly the roof lining + damaged trim and the additional trim added by the previous owner.
I cant find an exact color match for the roof lining so the plan was to re trim from the window line up. I was thinking ivory colored swede. If anyone has any ideas that they would do to there car i would love to hear it.
As for the trim, in the photo the last owner has added these black things... I want to take them off and bring it back to original...
However as can bee seen from the one on the dash that has been removed the glue is rather affixed. Again if anyone has any ideas on how to get this off it would be much appreciated.
Last is a photo of the bubbling passenger side aircon vent trim. has anyone had any experience at re-trimming this section, what did you use, how did you get them out?
Regards,
Jonathon.

No it was really easy, just do not take the fabric off until it is out of the car of you will get brown crap everywhere. The hardest bit is scraping off the old deteriorated foam.
Ill make a write up for it when i go to re install if you need clip and screw locations.

Jonathon
Nail polish remover or Isocol should get the glue off? (test a small bit first so it doesn't eat the leather).
On the 4th put its hard too see the bubbling. Is it on the 'foundry' finish? Or the little Fo-chrome airduct?
Airduct is quick, cheap and easy to replace (screwdriver inside the vent fins and gently pry inwards the two holding clips (use torch, you'll see them), it will then slide out.
The end cap is also easy. Check powerfuluk on YouTube, excellent L322 instructions.
Yep those end caps come off easy for a respray. Check out YouTube for a good step by step at powerfuluk.
Well the roof was all cleaned and re trimmed ready for a re install.
I will put some more up when it comes to installing.
I just used 3 M of felt from an auto trimmer ($35 p/m)
And High Temperature Resistant Tenso grip L17 from the local foam and rubber shop.

Well the doors are a work in progress but this is it so far.
Hated the green and decided to repaint.
Masked off and resprayed it with Dupli Color Fabric and Vinyl. came out really nice and is tough too. Did a durability patch test and it hold up really well.
Redid the Foundry part with a zinc coating.
End result is a 100% improvement, with just the door handle and then removing the glue from the upper section

Just a few more photos of the trim.
The center console has come out so I can give it a clean, paint the sides and start to install the sound blaster and the NFC enabled center arm rest.
Here is the before removal and before paint photos.
One last thing, there is a winged bush and the wings need to be pushed in while pulling gently with a set of pliers. Like picking a lock... I used a very small alen key to push them in.
