That does indeed look the business. And that rear wheel carrier is awesome. Cant wait for you to put the design up for sale
So the day finally came where I got some tyres...admittedly I didnt expect to get ones like this!
It started by testing out some 17" steel rims from dynamic...turns out they didnt fit, it was close, so very close but no banana.
So I thought I would give a shop over in furn tree gully a go and see what 5x120 stock they had lying around. I tried on several different brands and sizes, surprisingly a 17" factory bmw alloy fitted! who would have thought! However they just looked silly...
But the biggest shock was that 90% of the 18" rims we tried wouldnt clear the brakes, it was all down to the thickness of the inner drum, they were just too thick (Thank god I didnt end up importing some from the states) at a last minute trial we grabbed some 20" rims suited for an M5 and discovering the 20" tyres were only $50 each I jumped at it.
The offset is +30, a little much but with a small bit of rubber should fit nicely under the arches. and they now look the business!
A small amount of heat gun to the guards did the trick for clearance and as a precaution I am going to move the washer bottle as it was a little close for comfort at full lock and I am sure they are not cheap if collected by a tyre lug.
At full flex there was a tiny bit of touching at the rear, but bump stops will needed to be added regardless. Oh and I now sound like a spit fighter pilot, tad noisy

They look really good!
Whats the load rating on the rims themselves?
Are they the atturo trail blade Mt? Really considering them as a second set for my 17's. What are they like?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the standard tyres are about 30"? - 265/50/20's I'm running on mine. Just thinking this would make the 33's illegal in Victoria without Engineering approval. Just noting this as you posted in the Bull Bar thread that a modified D3 bar would make your vehcile illegal. Not sure why you think running large tyres is more legal than a non compliant bar?
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
I will be seeking engineering approval very soon and doubt there will be an issue.
However I just had a thought...The limit for size increase is 2" above standard yeah? This vehicle, as per my tyre placard, came out with 255/55R20 (31" height) would that be considered within legal parameters?
My tyre plate goes up to 255/50/20.

Must not be more than 50mm larger or 26mm smaller than that of any tyre designated by the vehicle manufacturer for that vehicle. (Standard 31" tyre should be allowable)
The wheel track of off-road four wheel drive vehicles and goods vehicles (MC, NA, NB ADR category) must not be increased by more than 50mm beyond the maximum specified by the vehicle manufacturer for the particular model (I think the rim offset was actually 34 so below the 50mm)
Is anyone else picking up what I am putting down? This may be legal without inspection
