Fuel costs and range is the issue for petrol with me. If i lived in Tassie wouldn't be a problem, plenty of fishing spots in stones throw I would so never need to travel far. But here, everything is further so fuel costs to consider.

    I ended up with a 2009 MY10 TDV8 but was also keen on a 2006-2008 V8 supercharged petrol.
The Jag V8 and better transmission was the reason.
I was worried about fuel usage but if you don't tow it's prob not too crazy.
The TDV8 isn't quite as efficient as the Disco 4 TDV6 diesel I had.
I currently use about 13l per 100 in the TDV8,
the petrol is probably around 20l per 100.
The disco was around 9l per 100.

I'm currently averaging 14L/100km in my TD6, but that's with a remap and a full roof rack. A bit less on the freeway.

The last Graysonline TDv8 Autobiography that ultimately went for north of $60k a few weeks ago apparently needed "$10k of engine work as would leak Oil everywhere".

My view with Grays is you either get a bargain or get a problem; and there is generally a reason why they are flogging these individual cars on Grays rather than through another channel. Also, and AFAIK, most finance repossessions go to Manheim - happy to be corrected. though.

Not trying to suggest anything about the specific car here, but would suggest a lot of due diligence on the car .

I rang one of Melbourne's independant Land rover specialists today on the off chance he had one and he has a vehicle I might be interested in. So fingers crossed.

Well Heather found this advertised this arvo, at 5pm we were at the dealership. Mint condition like it came from the factory.Auto has been serviced also.
This is an older vehicle to what this dealers normaly carries, in fact it had bben sitting in his garage for over a month as they had no time to prepare it for sale.
There were 20 others land rovers there from Discos to Evoques , but late model stuff.
Put a deposit on it and picking it up on Wed. I was onlty listed today and had 3 enquiries already on it.
Oh the 20inch mags are being replaced with proper land rover wheels.

After seeing the other crap for $27K, this one was a must buy.

Congrats. Wow that does look in exceptional condition. Even the crappy silver coated textured stuff on the trim looks intact. Is that from Highbury motors?
