When I started looking at a L322 I was told to expect a bit of diesel clatter from the td6. Coming from a very quiet 4BD1 110 I thought what clatter. It was much nicer to drive. Then I got the tdv8. Wow.

You will rightly start to think remap after maybe 12 mths. Also it sounds like a few mods are a good idea. Talk to JC, Harlie, Gav etc. there's lots of good experience on here.
    L322 tdv8 poverty pack - wow

Not sure about the fans still running though.
There are def some computers and bits behind the dash that run and make noises.
Quite often after I stop everything times out about a minute or two later.
Sit in the car for 5 mins after you remove the key and see if it stops.
Or sit in the car and press the central locking key on the fob to lock it and see if it stops.
If you do this sit very still or you'll set the alarm off.

The first time I realised mine had an alarm was when I locked the dogs in the car while paying for fuel. Walked out the servo thinking 'who's alarm is going off?' - it was mine.

I wouldn't be too concerned about it, sounds normal to me.

Don't worry about the strange faint fan noises inside with the ignition off when you open the door in the morning - they do that too.

Lots of new noises to get used to.
    I did some googling.
some said due to electronics there are cooling systems to keep the buggers cool, just like a PC has fans.
Then there are others that say there was a Land Rover bullitan brought out for fans running hours and draining batteries over night.
There was a YNI500040K wiring kit and relay brought out to fix this problem.
Then others say the JGO000021 Regulator for Blower is the problem.
I just had to park it first so all family members could park behind me in case I block them in.

I tried to stop the fan by turning the knob in the cente of the dash that has the lights for speeds and Auto in the centre, when I turned it fully anti clock wise the fan really ran fast. Also it can be turned anti clock wise more, so is this buggered?

Just caught up on this thread.

You are dead right, being able to see the dash and switches is a revelation after a D2!

Love the wheels, what are they?

    Cheers, Jerry

Hi Road Stone, I didn't love those wheels I am very conservative, so I had the dealer swap them for standard wheels.
I don't want people to see me driving around in them and thinking I'm the local pimp. too old to be a homie.
But the chrome grille looks schmick I think.

Ah, yeah, that is different, sounds like an actual problem. I'm sure they'll get that sorted for you no probs.

No problems with being standard, OE is by far the best. But they do look good with that colour.
