RWS ALL COMMS wont read the beCME

Just brought a MK3 ALLCOMMS and connected it to the rover L322 to see if I could reset the air suspension but it wont read the the EAS unit. The problem started when the air bags went down and the battery went flat. I replaced the battery with a new one and put it on the charger when testing. So I checked to see if it would read / connect to the body control unit and that was a no go as well. Seems to read/connect to some of the computer units but not others. The ones that wont connect are the BeCME, the EAS and the ABS. it keeps coming up with and Can fault. It seem half the module work the other half don’t. I’ve replaced the EAS with another one (second hand ), to see if it that was the problem and reset the steering angle sensor and that seems to work but I’m at a loss at the moment as to whats wrong with the system. The engine runs but comes up with a few errors and can drive it but its on the bump stops. It was all working but once the battery went flat the suspension went down and now nothing works. Would anyone have an idea of where to start. Could it be the body control unit ????
If I am ever on life support
    unplug me.....
Then plug me back in see if that works !!!!!

is it a real Allcoms or a Chineses knock off as allcoms claim there are counterfeits around and don't work properly. see this note on web site.'

    • Buyers Beware. There are several Chinese websites that claim to sell my tools. All of these sites are false and in violation of several copyrights and trademarks. Any product purchased from these Chinese sites will not work properly and will not be supported by RSWsolutions. When in doubt, send me an email and I can help verify. All of the All Comms hardware tools are coded to the software and vice versa. A product manufactured by another source will certainly not meet the coded hardware requirements, will not operate with the All Comms software properly and could damage vehicle and or PC hardware.

I have also received notification from some customers of these illegal Chinese copies, that the software included with the product is not only extremely outdated, but also contains viruses and or spyware. RSW Solutions is not responsible for these illegal counterfeit copies and cannot help resolve any of the problems that result from these illegal copies. I strongly advise against these illegal counterfeits.

No a genuine one. Just trying to figure out where to start. Its not the ALLCOMMS fault just trying to get a heads up to where I might start. As I said I have replaced the EAS but it still wont read so was wondering if the problem could be the BCU all along. It was checked by a land rover guy in hervey bay but after charging $550.00 and nothing done except stating that the EAS would have to be replaced first at around $1000 my daughter in law pulled the pin and is letting me have a try. It belonged to my son who passed away so trying to get it to the stage so that I can sell it for her. Buy the way the LR guy offered 500.0 as a wreck FOR PARTS.

Try disconnecting the battery again and then try to re-set the battery with the ALLCOMMS, to let the BCM know a new battery was fitted ?

    Laurie

    Battery dis-connection procedure from Ffrr

    DISCONNECTION:

Turn off the ignition, and remove the key. (Keep the key close by you though, as the alarm may go off and you need to disable it)
    Ensure the alarm is disabled.
Wait at least 2 minutes ( I gave it 5) for car systems to shut down such as the SatNav and Fuel Guage
Yes, now you can lift the bonnet and disconnect the Earth terminal (brown lead)
Now wait 10 minutes ( I gave it 20) for the SRS system to shut down. This is important because of what is to follow!
You have a positive lead running to a fitting on the bulkhead in front of the battery, this fitting is used for connecting jump leads. Undo the nut (13mm) at the back, and release the cable, placing out of the way.
Now unclip the cover for the battery terminal nut and undo the nut until loose.
Now unclip and take apart the multiplug which runs to the positive connector.
Now unclip the cover and undo and remove the nut for the battery disconnect system. Lift off the cable and set aside. (This is why item 5 is important, as this thing is designed to explode and break the battery connection in the event of a crash, so it works alongside the SRS) This is not fitted to Australian Compliance Cars
OK, now you can wiggle and remove the positive connector from the battery terminal.
    Battery disconnected!

    RECONNECTION:

Refit the battery disconnect lead to the positive connector unit and tighten nut.
Refit the positive connector to the battery terminal and tighten nut.
Reconnect the jump lead cable to the bulkhead and tighten the nut.
    Reconnect the multiplug.
Reconnect the negative terminal and tighten nut.
Start the engine, and allow systems to fire up and do their thing.
Finally, with the engine running, turn the steering wheel from full LH lock to full RH lock. This resets the DSC so it knows about the steering wheel position.
    Hopefully, everything back to normal.

I haven't used my allcoms for a number of years now, but can advise it did talk to the eas fine and reset faults -mine being pump was no good and took too long to change height state and front valve block seized due to water ingress.

Try a hard reset, done by disconnecting both battery cables as per instructions. Then take the positive lead and the negative lead and connect them together, leave connected for approx 10 mins this will discharge any residual current in the various ECUs . after this time reconnect the battery leads to the battery terminals as per correct instructions. The Eus will now be hard rest. It some times fixes problems with pesky ECUs.
not after doing a hard reset, all info on vehicle dash displays regarding fuel consumption, time date etc will be wiped and vehicle will re calibrate it. The clock will have to be reset also.

    COULD IT BE THE ABS

Read a tread on another site ( BMW) , and they seem to have a lot of problems with the ABS modual ( Bosch ) and someone suggested that if its faulty it will read ( which it does with the alcomms ) but you cant read any of the other units connected to the CAN bus as it has priority over the rest and locks them out so the EAS, BCU and the SAS cant be read till its fixed. Just wondering has anyone else run across this problem. The thing will run fine just no air suspension. Going to put a manual connection in next week just to get it up off it backside. Have tested all the bags and all rise with what seem no problem if connect to my shed compressor.
