    Broken Trans Pipe

So I am cleaning up under the RR, looking for a Coolant leak and I find a small amount of oil, not black engine oil, but dark reddish oil covering some of the transfer case.

I degreased the case and discovered the oil is coming from a broken rubber hose.

My question is, once this pipe is replaced, should I also have the transfer case oil checked/topped up?

Thanks Justin, not being a mechanic, can the pipe be replace by any piece of rubber tube or does it have to be something specific for that type of use?

Thanks again Justin, I’ll get to my local auto mart today.

Is the diff oil something special to Land Rovers, or can I buy any brand?

And more importantly, can I top it up or is this something better done by a professional?

Tim it's a full synthetic 75w-90 and from memory it's the old Castrol SAF-XO (can't recall the new name atm, Syntrax Long Life??) but Justin can confirm/correct that.

If the level is low, use any 75w-90 GL5 until you can obtain the correct stuff.
