    2002 L322 Window regulator

    Hi All.
My front drivers window has just started making a crunching sound going up or down.
Any one out there who has had a similar problem /
    Cheers Paul.

It sounds like you might have stripped a gear on the window regulator rail or the motor. Unfortunately it's door-card off unless you have a video borescope !

I use Karcraft in Sydney for a lot of my spares; give them a call 📞 02-97379944
What has failed? regulator or motor!
There are some 2Nd parts available if you want, otherwise I've used Island Spares UK, very easy to deal with.

I have sourced one in San Francisco off a LHD l322 for A$65 , its come off a vehicle that has done 60,000 miles.
Hopefully it has had not much use being the passenger side up in the USA.
I'm up there on Tuesday anyway.
Just watched a video on youtube, how to fit the regulator, the airbag has to be removed to get to the bolts. Is it safe to do this without removing the battery ?
    Thanks for your help.

    Manual recommends the following:

    Remove ignition key

Disconnect Battery - earth lead first

Wait 10+ mins for the SRS circuit to discharge before commencing work. As the SRS uses energy reserve capacitors to keep the system alive in case of a power failure under crash conditions.

Do you need a copy of the Workshop Manual ?

    TD6 Window regulator

    Hi All.
Have today fitted a replacement regulator, did it as per the workshop manual.
Had to remove the airbag, which i did 10 mins after disconnecting the battery.
Put it all back together, now the airbag SRS red is illuminated permanently.
Also the alarm goes off within a couple of mins of locking the vehicle.
There was also a '' air suspension inactive'' which i removed by turning the steering wheel from lock to lock.
Anyone have any idea whats happening.
    Cheers Paul.

    TD6 Door regulator

    Hi Laurie
Cleared the faults, everything good except the red airbag SRS is still glowing red on the dash.
Do you think its possible that i didn't connect the airbag on the door correctly ?
    cheers Paul.

    Hi Paul
Does your diagnostic tool clear the SRS Warning light ? sometimes it means a trip to the Stealers if not.

Other causes could be bad plug connection or a frayed wire. Also check your ground wire and that the occupancy sensor for the seat is connected properly. Remember the airbag has a capacitor for power in case the power is cut off in an accident so just be careful.
