Thread: Start stop button

2011 4.4TDV8 We have done 2500 klms from Victoria to Cameron Corner and are currently sitting at Lightning Ridge, when we left Bourke this morning took me a fair few pushes on button before car would start, battery was a little low after being there for a couple of days so I put it down to that, stopped on the way 30mins started fine, got to lightning Ridge, parked caravan unhitched and moved car then switched off, 30 mins later went to move it and it took me 3 pushes to get it to start, looking at getting a new oem switch when we get to Gold Coast, in 7 days but if it fails altogether is there a way to jump the switch, watched a video where he showed two little posts which goes against the board connecting them can I just jump that with a wire?

Here's a picture of the stop-start switch from the wiring diagram. Note that the path to earth is via a 1K resistor.
