Sorry to hear that, they could at least give you a D5 loaner instead of a Sport. Or even a Defender.

"Responsiveness gremlins" has now translated into low compression or some such I'm advised. Now we have a new engine on order. 4 to 5 weeks away which will mean 3 months off the road for the D5. ****ed off am I!

A sorry saga this has turned out to be.
Last week JLR coughed up (unsolicited from me) the lease repayments for 3 months which I thought was good customer service and PR.
Got the D5 back on Wednesday complete with a new engine, all fixed, test driven multiple times, etc. Lasted < 24 hours and the same fault occurred. Zero power, stalling, restricted performance, back on the tilt tray to the dealer. I would post the video of the car in fault that I took at the time but its not fit for public viewing. I did send it to JLR and the dealer who did the work as a way of "expressing" my disappointment.
Now waiting on another loaner to arrive today.
Not happy.
I’m reading this in horror.
at which point do you simply hand back the keys?

its your right, they are not doing you a favour
The prognosis now is the intake manifold which was not part of the new engine. Ex stock Australia so hopefully this is it and we can get back on the road.
