2019 Discovery diagnosed with critical engine failure cylinder number 1

We purchased our 2019 Discovery second hand privately and almost immediately metal filings were found attached to the drain plug. LR diagnostics showed problems with Cylinder nr 1 and advised a total engine replacement.
The car has 126km on the clock and LR servicing history up until most recent that we arranged post our purchase.
Local LR dealer requested goodwill support from head office to help with $35k plus cost of repairs but head office denied based on ownership and service history.
Any suggestions on where to next? I'm aware of the Aussie class action and have read many of tales of woe that are out on social media both here and o/s.
I'm not hopeful of getting any support from LR but will pursue as best I can.
Other than that I'm looking at how best to dispose of the car now that we know it's got this problem.

I sold it yesterday for a $20k plus loss just to get rid of it before the engine blew up. I will never go near anything JLR produces again. Their total disregard for me as a LR owner and lack of accountability reflects poorly on an organisation that I sadly thought offered a trusted and proven brand.

That is really disgusting behaviour by LR considering it has full service history by them.

    TD6 SEIZED

My 2019 Discovery just seized as well just went bang .130k km JLR have come back and said no compression no 1(by computer) . Offered me 4% of the repair cost which is a recon engine but would be at an inflated price. I think it cold possibly be a crank shaft as it was a big bag and instantaneous. Serviced by them 4 days earlier
