The last time that I checked, the part numbers for the 4.4 inlet manifolds haven't changed since the start of the L405 and I haven't read of other than a few MY11 L322 4.4 manifolds splitting and therefore yours shouldn't be at risk of splitting. However, check the manfolds under the sound insulation just in case and perhaps replace that manifold in case of a small split even though it can't be spotted.
I don't know of any other common source of oil from the rear of the engine.

Once again thanks. I will investigate further and let the community know when I have the answer. Quick question Graeme, could the manifold bolts be needing a tension, and if so would this be a 1st step before gasket replacement ?

I expect the manifolds to be the same as the V6 where the plastic is tightened against the head, compressing the gasket only as far as is allowed. I'm not aware of leaking gaskets or loose bolts being a common issue, but...
