I think you are going to be disappointed.

It won't be in the 70 series class,or market.

As i have said before,the 70 will soldier on,with very little opposition,as it does today.

The new Defender will be up to date,highly complicated,and highly capable.

It won't be the vehicle of choice for people that today have 76/78/79 series,or probably those that have the old Defender and are looking to update.

Anyway,just my two cents worth[biggrin]

Remember though that most dealers keep sod all parts in stock now, but let the head office warehouse keep the stock and only bring it in as nessesary. This includes things as simple as brake pads or disks - My local Toyota dealer (which is a huge place) doesn’t keep wear items like this - you have to book in for another day and take the vehicle back to get things like this done now - outside filters and oil they hardly keep anything - it’s cheaper to let others hold stock. Same happened when I had a Holden - no parts kept in stock.

Hmm, I've heard the cruiser brigade claim this many a time, but in reality its far from the truth when you look at the situation currently.

All these regional towns have Landrover Dealerships and Service after a quick search

Dubbo
Tamworth
Shepparton
Ballarat
Millicent
Toowoombah
Darwin

Back in the horse and carriage days, parts to remote areas where an issue, now if the closest dealer cant help, its overnighted or max 2-3days to nearly all of OZ.

So you really have a plethora of options, hopefully with over the air updates, software may even be able to be worked on remotely.

If your under warranty Landrover Care will take care of you anywhere anyway.

I wonder how tesla and rivian owners will go when they start venturing to the limits of their batteries and something goes wrong.

Landrover are in my opinion not competing with 70 series, it will create a new class, many people can affort a 79 or the costs to get one up to standard, others dont like how they handle offroad or thier fundamental flaws. Plenty of room for them to come over to the dark side haha.

Old defender owners not moving over please, plenty will move over, lot to love about current defender, but also things not to like, many of these kept potential customers from buying in the first place.

Because of its do anything very well ability, they will sell way more defenders than in the past.

Indeed. Makes indies like MLR who do keep extensive stock of parts on hand all the more impressive and reliable.
