This is the first thing I actively dislike about the new vehicle: the off-centre rear recovery point. If they had two of them, symmetrically, you could work with that. But I don’t want to get yanked sideways when I’m snatching somebody out of the sand.

Farpoint however better than previous defenders imo, I usually use the tow hitch on my RRC for serious recoveries.
Hopefully they will have a normal slide in tow hitch option.
    Front recovery is centred.
Anyone know if D5 has normal tow hitch option

If that is an option for Defender, then should be the same centred recovery aswell as stock recovery

Is stock d5 electric deployable? I see it still 3.5t and 350 ball weight.

    YouTube

Standard tow hitch for new defender looking like deployable one based on mules, but who knows. Maybe base model will have something manual.

Top pic is typical European set up,not what we use here.

Bottom pic, easy to take a hayman reece bolt on set up by the looks.

Also set up looks pretty high up out of the way which is good,in bottom pic.

Yep simples is best. Provided it's easy to remove a pin and remove tongue HR style. I'm ok with an electric deployment as long as it is able to be wound fully in and out easily using a socket say because we know it will fail in time and need the socket...

    Cheers

Not at all, I think almost all the new Land Rover models look the same. Take it or leave it, I can’t tell the difference at a glance any more or even a long hard look with some, they really do all look the same to me. Hopefully the new Defender might have some unique features but based on how lazy LR designers have become, I’m expecting the same headlight and tail light style as the rest, on what looks to be a D4 body.

Couldn't agree more , L/R wont be seeing any of my hard earned with the current crop of clone vehicles. From what I have seen in this thread so far the pretender defender wont be in my driveway either.

    Cheers Ean
