The LR development team has said from the get go the car will put the GWagen in the shade. From that I have always assumed 3xdiff locks as that's what GWagen has. But with better suspension etc.
So that's what I am expecting to see
So far the jigsaw remains lots of pieces with few joined together. It will be fascinating to see, if the timelines predicted are close, what sort of information from the maker we begin to see over the next quarter
I remain optimistic the car will be excellent on and off road. My only concern is will it have a decent towing capacity.

MY15 TDV6. Compomotives with KO2's, Traxide 160-DBMS, Llams, OE bar, custom rear storage slide, Rhino roof storage system, LSM TPMS, ICOM 440N, rear ladder and GOE compressor guard
Taking into account the info from Lucky 8 where they offered confirmation that the driveline will be recognisably similar to the D5, I will be astonished if we don’t get options for at least a rear locker in addition to the standard centre locking diff. That combo with the latest generation of traction control is pretty hard to beat.
I’d still love to see a front locker as an option.
And a winch.
And on-board air.
And fully accessible diagnostics (no more GAP tool).
And explicit provision for UHF/HF radio antenna, cabling and head unit mounting.
And LR designed rock sliders and front bar.
And frickin mud flaps that are worth having.
And a decent jack.
How hard could it be...?![]()
Of your list
Front locker - a solid maybe let’s say 25% chance
Winch - at best a discrete mount no steel bar so that’s a no
Onboard air zero chance
Diagnostics zero chance AND a carton says current tools won’t work
UHF jiggery zero chance - maybe just maybe because of ‘merica will have built in trailer brake module like most American tow ponies have???
Sliders and front bar zero chance
Mud flaps will be standard rip off in the Bunnings car park models you all know and love
Decent jack - outside chance let’s say 5%
For mine until / if it comes in a cab chassis with minimum 1800x1800 tray able to eat a tonne, wearing a steel bar with winch, 1000km minimum range (ie fuel system able to be added too)
It won’t meet my needs.
I don’t think my list is too arduous, sheet a greatwall ute almost meets it!!!!
At least I’m a realist NOT wanting onboard air like a Unimog!!!!

The previous model Discovery was a D5.
The latest Discovery is just that, Discovery.
Straight from the mouth of LR staff.
So lets call it Discovery , not D5
So is it a Discovery 6? I didn't realise they had updated the Disxovery 5. If no major update it's a D5. I don't care what LR say. Why don't they just stick with the plan. LR fans do... I mean how else do you distinguish models...
Cheers
Yes Indeed, Even LandRover themselves are calling the 1948 model a Defender . Just Dickheads really !!~
