    Huh?

Actually don't use my computer much at all for non work related maters Won’t be retro..., just used for high res investigation (your welcome) hmm.

What other new LR would be more suitable for work, just looking at facts matey.

Based on everything we have seen so far from interior leaks and on record comments from JLR "utilitarian to luxury" "dual use". "Disco pushed towards RR".

If you have facts to prove otherwise, show them, happy to stand corrected Won’t be retro...

I always find it funny when some people people run out of facts on their side of the discussion, they resort to trying to discrediting or attacking the person, pretty poor form imo.

I have zero connection with JLR, give it a rest will ya, It was funny at first, however, I will start to report anyone saying that moving forward Won’t be retro.... Did JLR tell me to post all the positive stuff on this forum about Rivian too Won’t be retro...

I'm a LR fan, if you can't be one here, where can you be. Won’t be retro...

100% agree, these trails are not easy.

I’ll be more impressed when it drives stock (no added armour) the rubicon
(Which it will I am certain) than any trail at Moab

Moab is a test of departure and approach angles
A jimmy would do it easier than the LR2020

Rubicon is a test of off-road-ability

And yet - it will still be an SUV
All 4WD wagons these days are
Actually you could probably drop the U and change it to an L
    They are Sports Lifestyle Vehicles

    Anyways

    Bring it on!!!

Oh and I still reckon 4WDaction/etcetc
Will grab one, drive it up the cape and kill it ala D3 release

    It’s just the Aussie way!!!

Id drive one up the cape based on what I've seen so far, just need to ensure wading is at least D5 spec, hopefully more. I would want a snorkel.

Didn't the D3 / D4 diesel's suffer engine failures at low kms ? I seem to recall JLR replacing several with less than 20k on them, which is what led to the talk of the reliability issues with the late model L/R's, which is why they never boomed as a remote touring vehicle here in Aus even with how capable they are off road

On another note , I know nothing of the trails they tested them at places like Moab , but why wouldn't they bring them here and test them in our conditions , this may finally make the designers realise that there is a need for bigger fuel tanks , extra space for aux batteries and carrying enough gear to last a week or more. Doing trail testing is fine but what do they take to drive , a few hours, a day maximum ??

This is why I believe we are not high on the market demand list and think we will see limited models just to fill in a few gaps somewhere between the clones. At present from what I can see the cheapest new L/R off the floor is $62k , no wonder there are no or very minimal dealerships outside the big major cities.

    Cheers Ean

    BR don’t get me wrong
The Cape is nothing outlandish and with care and control nearly anything would get through or safely around... a 2wd would get up to Bamaga via the main route probably 8 months out of 12.

It’s just the 4WD world in Australia likes to see LR fail.
Soon after release of the D3, despite winning awards worldwide
4Wd action I think it was took one up north,
It was early in the southern section of the OTL
That it frizzed a height sensor or something, dumped the airbags and a transmission fault.
Game over. Rest of article all blah blah blah no good uses pommie crap.

Now don’t get me wrong I bet a carton they were flogging it trying to kill it
Driving hard into water etc etc

And Of course landy nuts knew that if they had simply reset the sensor all would have been salvageable

But the take home storey fits the mantra that LR are crap

And I’m certain they will try the same with the new LR2020
But they might have to try harder this time!!!

    Ean,
I can only presume that JLR fee the Aussie market is so inconsequential to success that testing here is of no value.
They will sell more in the US in one week than Australia in 2-3 years !!!

I also agree we will get a limited subset of choice either due to fuel restrictions
    Or just market reasons.

Having said that I’m guessing they won’t release a diesel option in the US
But we might get one (with adblue) here.

Not saying LR hasn't had its problems, (every manufacturer does), in fact ive never said anything of the kind, just that Triton isn't anything special in my opinion based on my mates 1st hand experience. It was always getting fixed, lucky he was under warranty. It also wasnt anything special offroad.

He used it as a work truck with tray + weekend 4x4.
