no, thats what I mean , its horrid . Checker plate is a lazy sods panel repair,
it dosent took mean or tough , it looks pathetic .

Its useful when your trying to climb across your bonnet with muddy shoes to reach your winch cable, or access your roofrack, so you don't ruin your paintwork or slip off and break your neck, or as mentioned for ya cupa or tools to sit on.
Just about every modified defender in the world has it, and some jeep add it too.
I'm sure if it is some kind of grip panel, they will make it look good, rest assured GB
