Aw I dunno, Paul. A 5000 km suitably sized & fused extension lead should do the trick.

Can you imagine the mess of cables at Alice Springs for instance?

Of course it is even more ethereal than the LR2020 but this is a company that cares more about touring/ off-road/ real life rather than “trading on a name lifestyle”

Saw a youtube vid on that, looks great especially the kitchen, however I believe it was a concept

Wonder if they can make an electric vehicle sound like a V8.

    Cheers

They are slowly removing the camo, each few shots seems to reveal something new to the keen eye, passes the time waiting for me, good example is the power "canvas" roof.

Its a nice dream, but I agree and by the time this is out in AU we will have a full EV defender anyway, with an exisiting national dealer/service network.

Im guessing 4-500km in real world.

Imo they are soft adventure vehicles, due to full EV atm, maybe in 5-10 years they can be used practically.

LR seem to have the timing pretty spot on for the mild hybrid/hybrid then full EV a few years down the track.

Cropped the power canvas roof again on desktop.

Looks like it will concertina to back fiat 500/Jeep style. But not be full width im guessing for rollover or airbag safety.

Looks sunken into real roof so doesnt look to be ontop of anything.

They wanted us to see this just like the glass pano roofs previously.

Interesting, What inparticular looks so bad and why?

The Roof, "Canvas" power roof or pano glass?

Regarding the canvas, I would say from front on (the only time you could see a defender roof top) it would be barely noticeable especially with dark colors and the fact that its sunken in. Its not often we hover above our 4bys with spy cameras.

Compared to a current defender sunroof look it would imo be an improvement.

Glass pano, well your not guna notice that at all. Looks to be sunken curved pano at front then opening pano section for rear.

Having said that im sure pano or power will be options and won't be for everyone, if they were they would be standard equip.

Here's a Jeep and a current defenders with custom power roofs(surprised to find one its almost identical to new defender one) and defenders with normal sunroof.

And a Jimny as per Discomicks comment Suzuki Jimny 400 Electric Folding Fabric Full Sunroof. – Prestige Sunproofs W.A.
