Nice article on the engines into the Rangie in the US BR.
    As best I can read , the three US options are;
    -3.0 I6 petty with turbo and a 48V supercharger fed via 0.2kW lith battery (355hp 365’lb)
    -3.0 I6 petty with turbo and a 48V supercharger fed via 0.2kW lith battery (395hp 405’lb)
-2.0 I4 petty with 114hp electric motor fed via 13.1kW lithe battery (plugin) (398hp 472 ‘lb)
-3.0 V6 dieso with turbo (single) ADBlue (254hp
    -5.0 V8 petty 518-557hp

Will certainly be interesting to see what they release the defender in the US vs ROW vs Aus
From the above I reckon you’d have to have a long look at the PHEV assuming the price delta isn’t too great. Assuming it follows the Rangie pricing the upsize petty and PHEV will be plus $5k on the base petty or dieso... if it does 50km fuel free and you have a charger at work would make a cheap commuter with range on the weekends....... assuming they actually put more than 55L of petrol tank into it!!!!

    Interesting times!

If the Defender is the polar opposite of the current Range Rover then that's a great start. Let's see what McGovern really means later this year.

    Cheers

Have edited above to include the V8 petty for the Rangie in the US

I highly doubt Australia will get that many engine choices
Sheet they couldn’t even be bothered testing one here!
Well probably get the diesel or upcharge to low grade I6 petty (high output won’t be available due to fuel) and hopefully the PHEV.... even three engine choices is probably more than JLR Australia will bother with if previous landy offering are anything to go by?

    Maybe just the diesel.

Wow , a 3.6bil pound loss and L/R is successful . Hate to see a failure.

I think the options offered here are shrinking day by day as they work thru that loss.

Large write downs contributed to this figure. Remember tax profit/loss is different to accounting profit/loss, and is different to gross positive/negative cash flow or income.

They are reported as making a first quarter this calendar year pretax profit of £120M.

Exactly, so they probably won’t pay much tax for the next few years as they use up the tax loss.

Yes, there will be business benefit/s for doing write downs and big capital investment now.

Things seem to looking up, new evoque, new disco sport, new electrified RRS, RRV, Defender.

    The future is bright imo.

Jaguar Land Rover posts profitable quarter amidst big yearly losses - Autoblog

"Jaguar has posted its first profit in quite some time, as the financial quarter ending on March 31 brought in a net income of $151.6 million. However, that is the light in the end of the tunnel, as full year results through March showed a $4.58 billion loss (£3.6 billion).

The losses are again attributable to declining sales in China, with a whiff of the still-lingering Brexit process. While JLR's annual U.S. sales were up 8.1 percent, and U.K. sales improved by 8.4%"

Follow up on this, found a high res image and seems it has a raised grip section on left/right of bonnet, could be hard platic or metal.

Can also see tube going to wiper mounted washers.
