That 130 rendering shows no greater overhang than a D2 but it's not angled upwards like a D2. To be perfectly honest the silhouette isn't flattering compared to D2 or.Defender. Should look better in the flesh. And I'm not sure either what that panel area is ...looks weird especially on the 130.

To give an idea of the (apparent) size of the 130:
New 130 (leaked details)
width: 1999mm
height: 1916mm
wheelbase: 3022mm
length: 5100mm
Nissan Y62
width: 1995
height: 1940
wheelbase: 3075
length: 5165
So, the 130:
- is wider than a Y62
- is lower
- has a longer wheelbase
- is 65mm shorter
In other words, as anyone who has stood next to (or sat in) a Y62 will know - the 130 will be a big vehicle.
And, unlike the Y62 the 130 is monocoque, so the interior will be cavernous.

I now have a 2017 D5 SE SD4. It’s reasonably capable, a very comfortable vehicle to drive apart from the turbo lag, has plenty of power and a good amount of room. They are I believe a very reliable vehicle, but if it does go wrong, I don’t think anyone outside the dealer network can fix it. (Its been back in three times with the park sensor problem).
The IDDTool still isn’t fully functional, and as my son correctly states, it’s a computer on wheels.
The wheel sizes are difficult and it’s very difficult to fit chains which is often a requirement in the Australian High country.
What’s really stupid is that if the engine stops for any reason the park brake and transmission lock will automatically be applied after a short period of time, and there is nothing in the user manual about how to release them. (I believe you call your local dealer and they will come out a fix the problem !!!!!!. That could be interesting)
If Land Rover continue with this philosophy of locking the users and available mechanics out, I don’t see how it will ever be able to replace the old Defender. The new Defender will probably be extremity capable and reliable, but everything eventually fails.
Seriously any car you buy today has TC that is exactly the same as this and has for the last 10 to 20 years. Some of you guys need to get out more and try other brands.Quote:

Hmmm the 90 will have a wheelbase 1.8 in more than my current D2 but with only 2 doors. Works for me, I only need 2 doors. Delete any rear seating will probably set up as a pretty good tourer.

They used to lead. Today everything in the same class is just as good as them. It is nice but is falls over in difficult terrain.
